Leading and Developing People – Begins August 28, 2018
The most important job of leaders is to manage and develop people. In ministry, this responsibility includes both paid staff and volunteers. This course helps participants evaluate their skills in developing others. It includes discussions on: the best practices for attracting, hiring, and developing personnel; how to have difficult conversations such as terminations; and how to build a cohesive team. This four-week experience is a real-life lab in which participants develop strategies, materials, and projects they can immediately implement in their organization. Projects could include evaluating personal leadership skills, job descriptions, development plans for workers, effective staff and committee meetings, partnering for performance reviews, termination procedures, team celebrations, and team service events. Enrollment will be limited to allow for maximum interaction between participants. The cost is $149.
