Mrs. Beverly Jean Simpson, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away May 2, 2023, in Evansville, Indiana as a result of several recent health issues. Age 87 years. Beverly was born October 12, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan to Eddie and Minnie Proux. Beverly married Frank Simpson in 1957, and they were married for five years. She lived in Saginaw all her life until she moved with her mother to Louisville, Kentucky in 2000 to live with one of her sons. The family then moved to Indiana in March 2006.
Beverly was a member of The First Baptist Church in Saginaw for over 50 years where she served as a member of the Diaconate, the Chancel Choir, the Berean’s Sunday School Class, and the Women’s Society. She also worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 40 years as a Radiologist Technologist Technician in the Cancer Treatment Center. She was active in the Michigan Society of Medical Assistants and once served as president. Beverly was Queen of the Red Hat Society Chapter, “Hats with Plumes and Ribbons and Blooms” in Evansville, which consisted of Christian ladies who became fast friends. She also loved visiting with the ladies and her friends at Shear Madness Salon in Newburgh each week. Beverly loved going to Michigan to visit with family and friends and see fall colors and visit Bronner’s. Beverly is survived by her two sons, Mark Simpson, Evansville, Indiana; Brian Simpson and his wife Jennifer, Thornton, Colorado; and two grandchildren, Geoffrey Simpson, and Graham Simpson, also of Thornton, Colorado.
Due to the age and health restrictions of so many of her family and friends across several states, a virtual Celebration of Life service for Beverly will be made by her oldest son, Rev. Dr. Mark Simpson, viewable at any time via the link https://rockbridge.info/beverly.
